Follow instructions to bake your chosen vanilla cake recipe. You will only need 1 9-inch pan of cake, so you may only end up doing half of a cake recipe.
Let the cake cool.
Once it has cooled down, crumble it with either your hands or a hand mixer. It should be completely broken up as crumbs.
Add in 1 tbsp of frosting at a time, mixing until the mixture is thick and hold shape when pressed together.
Prepare the square pan by using parchment paper.
Press the crumb/frosting mixture into the pan. Making sure the top is flat. Let freeze in the freezer for 1 hour.
Once the mixture is solid, you will be using the heart shaped cutter to cut out pieces.
You should get about 9 or so heart cake pops.
Melt the chocolate, by either using the microwave or melting them on the stovetop.
Place a cake pop stick in the center of the bottom of the heart and dip it in chocolate. Letting any excess chocolate drip off.
Once the cake pops are dried you can drizzle more chocolate on top too.
